Detroit Zoo, Detroit
On 22-06-2008 we visited Detroit Zoo which is the first zoo in the United States to have open, natural exhibits. It is situated in 125 acres of land with over 2,100 mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish of 286 different species. For children, a visit to this zoo will be an educative, enjoyable and thrilling experience.
The attractions include
Tauber Family Railroad (seasonal): Miniature Railroad which carries passengers between the Main Station near the park entrance and the Africa Station at the farthest corner of the park – open seasonally – May through September and weekends only in October. So, want to enjoy the good old ‘chuk chuk bandi’ experience again – go for it – ticket will be 2$ per person one way. If you have less time check for line first – yes, you can go by walk instead of waiting in line.
